Located on the second floor at 20 N Main St, our modern, family-friendly space offers the absolute best view from a dental office in town, looking out on the scenic Erie Canal in the Village of Pittsford. When you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk team, who will check you in and ensure all of your digital patient forms have been completed ahead of time.
The next part of your first appointment is all about you! We’ll take a detailed account of your medical and dental history, understand your lifestyle and preferences, and answer any of your initial questions. For children and teens, we make sure parents are included at every step of the process. This part of your consultation is an open, relaxed conversation between you and our staff.
After our initial conversation, we’ll get a more detailed look at your smile through 3D X-rays with our state-of-the-art CBCT machine. This advanced tool uses low-dose digital X-rays to provide the best 3D images for Dr. Squires, so he can complete a quick and comfortable evaluation of your smile needs.
Now it's time to meet your board-certified orthodontist: Dr. Taylor Squires! Dr. Squires will help create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your lifestyle and needs. Every patient sees Dr. Squires at their initial visit and throughout their treatment, which is one of the ways we set ourselves apart.
Before you go, we’ll walk you through next steps, including your financing options. Now, it’s time to get excited as we schedule your next appointment to get your braces on or clear aligners fitted! We can even digitally scan your teeth during your first visit, which allows us to design your customer clear aligners. We’re so excited that you’re about to get a brand new, confident smile with us.

We recommend that you arrive a few minutes early to your appointment to confirm your information and ensure a smooth check-in process.

Generally, you can expect to spend less than an hour at Squires Orthodontics during your first appointment. Filling out your forms and sending over your insurance info ahead of time will help make the appointment process even smoother!
After your first appointment, we’ll use your scans to create your clear aligners or put your braces plan together. For braces, we can usually start treatment within a week of your initial visit (and sometimes even on the same day). For clear aligners, we can scan your teeth during your first visit, and it typically takes about three weeks for your aligners to arrive from the manufacturer. We’ll talk to you about your personalized timeline at your first visit.
Many children, teens, and adults experience some anxiety about going to the orthodontist for the first time. However, Dr. Squires and our team are here to make your experience comfortable and relaxed, and we’ll answer all your questions as they come up. Knowing what to expect can also help relieve anxiety surrounding your first appointment.
